Land Acknowledgement

Choctaw, Houma, Chitimacha, Biloxi, and other Native peoples have lived in the area we call New Orleans since this land came to be. It is Bulbancha, “place of many tongues.” This rich Mississippi River soil, unceded, belongs to the original stewards of the land — they have my gratitude, respect, and tribute.
